Zürich-West - This year’s event at the Sheraton Zurich Hotel drew members of TecHub, customers and friends together. Through talks, conversations and collaborative exchange, attendees enriched their knowledge, extended their network and planned their coming endeavours.
The highly anticipated conference had its focus on the present day highly debated topic in the IT world -- artificial intelligence. Cornel Eberle of Sly AG shared his presentation, “Digitising with Machine Learning: Lessons Learned”, Terence La , founder of multiple startups and two times TEDx speaker, encouraged the participants to use AI-tools on a daily base, with the talk “Building Tech for Impact” and Matthias Mau and Simeon Jackman of Machine Learning Architects Basel, explained how to reliably deliver AI using the MLOps principal, with the talk “Demystifying Generative AI”.
Cornel Eberle described, in his presentation, how they used machine learning for PDF parsing and entity matching in their project. There are numerous challenges involved with this such as: unstructured input data (PDF), quality of product data, limited possibilities of full text search and context that needs to be considered. These challenges aside, there is potential for machine learning despite its time-consuming and relatively unpredictable outcome. Naturally, the quality and contextuality associated with the data itself, the more responsive and accurate your results will be.
Terence La elaborated on the significance of generative AI, its value and relevance to society, organisations, and how it has recently impact the way in which we live our lives today. There are many uses for it and boosting productivity is a big advantage.
Matthias Mau together with Simeon Jackman touched on the concept of machine learning, how it has been used in the tech industry and the intricacies involved in it. Machine Learning (ML), a subfield of artificial intelligence that focuses on the development of algorithms that allow computers to learn from and make predictions or decisions based on data. Their “The Digital Highway for End-to-End Machine Learning”, successfully implements an end-to-end approach for reliable and continuous machine learning delivery and operations.
The talks thereafter were followed by delicious apéro, intense conversations and contact exchanges. Certainly new partnerships were made and collaborations. TecHub would like to thank all participants, colleagues, collaborators, friends, for their visits and presentations. We would be happy to see you again in the near future.
